INTERNET – Making sure the facts are right!

3 September 2009

When we are not sure how a word is spelled we consult the dictionary.  When we are not sure if what we have is hay fever, swine fever or some other type of fever, we consult the doctor.

When we are not sure if the information we got from the Internet is correct, what do we do?  Here are some ways to outdo the cheats, charlatans and morally depraved.

  • Where possible, get your facts from the official websites of government agencies, NGOs or professional bodies.
  • Get the facts from several sources to counter check and see if they are consistent.

If you’re making a business transaction with a Company from the Internet that involves a large sum of money, it’s best to get an IT consultant to a back-end check on the Company.
